The many lessons of Life

I am learning to recognize the various signs that is presented to us in life that serves as lessons that if learned will allow us to grow beyond our current conditions. Now these signs/lessons reveal to us where we truly are in life and not where we think or believe we are. This is really a profound process. Inherent in the very nature of the lesson is both a true knowledge of the level that we exist on and the doorway that if entered will take us a degree higher. Have you ever heard "when the student is ready the Master/Teacher will appear"? Well, students are those engaged in the system of learning lessons that prepares them for upcoming tests. We all, to some degree or another, are students. When we enroll in college the first thing we need to do is take what is called a "placement/assessment tests". This test measures the level of our understanding and mastery (or lack there of) of the lessons learned up to that point. Life is the same way. I experienced something beautiful last night. In addition to Motivational Speaking I am a taxi driver here in Phoenix. Last night I had a customer literally run away from me without paying the $25 fare that he owed. An internal war ensued. On one side the thought was go and catch him and teach him a good lesson (smile ). The opposite thought was don't sweat the small stuff. I did get out of the taxi to take a look around but I didn't call the police or file any report. I just got back in the taxi and started driving. The very next fare that I was dispatched on was for $100.00. The lesson: had I remained preoccupied with the situation of the thief who ran on me I would have missed out on the blessing that was literally around the corner. We miss out on the greater blessings in life often because we allow ourselves to be bogged down with problems and worries from previous lessons. Move on!!!!! What you need may come to you if you release yourself form the bondage of yesterday. What lessons are you learning today? Please Share!!!!

Reverence the Womb

We all have experienced hardships and setbacks in life. At times it may seem unbearable. The "hood" is a term no longer restricted to the lower socio-economic areas but is applicable to any environment where "hood activities" ( drug using/slanging, gangster rap, gang banging, grafitti, baby moma drama, fatherless homes, drive-bys, high school drop outs, rampant promiscuity and the list goes on and on......) is taking place. A visit to what was once "decent" places to live in suburban neighborhoods will bring you face to face with meth labs that produces drug addicts which in turn increase criminal activities. How many times have you seen new housing development go up and the people who live there say ' its just a matter of time before this too is turned into a ghetto'? Inspite the many problems of the "hood" the fact remains that this is a womb that constantly give birth to men and women of consequences. Often times these negative deathstyles have an adverse affect. A child growing up not knowing his father or with limited access (prison) to his father becomes deterimed to be there every step of the way when he is blessed to have children of his own. The daughter of a stripper or prostitute develops a high moral character and healthy view of herself and her interactions with men. Those who had to endure years of physical, emotional and psychological abuse in homes occupied by drug addicts and alcoholics vow to never use drugs or drink anything stronger than milk. Young boys from families where most of the men have had forced vacations into the criminal justice system prefere to work and vaction stress free in the Bahamas. My point is that the same negative reality (womb ) that produced Cain also produce Abel. Do we have the power to produce Abel's the majority of times? Sure we do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
